Chime Gyaltsen, also known as A Tsula, is a 49-year-old Tibetan from Rego Village in Kardze (Chinese: Ganzi) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. He was arrested on 21 December 1999 for his participation in the Kardze demonstration of 26 October 1999. Following his arrest, he was sentenced to one and half years of detention and held at the Kardze Detention Centre for his involvement in the peaceful protest.
