On July 20 ; 2013 ; officials detained four of the petitioners upon arrival in Yinjiang and held them at the Gara townahip police stattion. The petitioners had left for Beijing on July 9 ; where they presented to "relevant departments" a petition with 30 ; 000 signatures seeking the release of Buddhist teacher ; Tenzin Delek ; detained in April 2012 and serving a life sentence on separatism and explosives charges which he denied.
