Tashi Tsomo was an official and resident of Lhasa who was arrested and prosecuted by the Chinese authorities on charges related to corruption and embezzlement of public funds during her period of government service between 1987 and 1990.

Following legal proceedings before the Lhasa People’s Intermediate Court, Tashi Tsomo was convicted and sentenced to death, along with lifelong deprivation of political rights. The court found her guilty of financial misconduct and misuse of government funds while serving in an official capacity. She subsequently appealed the verdict to a higher court; however, the appeal was rejected, and the original judgment and sentence were upheld.
