Public security bureau officials and People’s Armed Police detained at least eight Tibetans among “hundreds” of Tibetans who staged a political protest in Nada township. The report ; citing a Tibetan living in exile who has contacts in the area ; named four Tibetan detainees: Palkho (age 40 ; a teacher) ; Dorje (35) ; Ador (35) ; and Tsal Dorjee (“Sel Dorjee ; ” 28). After the protesters walked three times around a market area ; security personnel allegedly charged the protesters and beat them with batons and rifle butts ; injuring some.
